The European Commission has shortlisted 10 projects led or supported by GRTgaz as eligible for the PCI (Projects of Common Interest) label: 6 hydrogen transmission projects (HY-FEN, MosaHYc, RHYn, DHUNE, WHHYN and BarMar/H2Med), and 4 CO2 transmission projects in which GRTgaz is a partner. The Commission’s selection will be submitted to the Parliament and the Council of the EU in early 2024.

OGE, the German gas transmission system operator, has joined its counterparts Enagás (Spain), GRTgaz (France), REN (Portugal) and Teréga (South-West France) as a promoter of the H2Med project. This first major green corridor, linking the Iberian Peninsula to France and north-west Europe, will enable renewable hydrogen to be transported from production areas to areas of high consumption. A fine example of European energy cooperation.

France and Norway will be working together to decarbonise industry. The cornerstone of their cooperation is the development of a technological solution for the capture and geological storage of CO2 emitted by industrial sites. GRTgaz will be contributing its expertise to the development of CO2 transmission and storage in the North Sea.

GRTgaz and the ADP Group have just launched a study to define the conditions for piping hydrogen to Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly airports. The two partners are combining their expertise to accelerate and support the decarbonisation of air transport, by contributing to the emergence of a French hydrogen industry.

The role of renewable gases in the energy transition; an update on France’s security of supply before winter; the intertwined destinies of the hydrogen and electricity networks: these are just some of the subjects covered in the third issue of soLettre Institutionnelle, GRTgaz’s newsletter for elected representatives and public decision-makers. Hot off the press!

In November, GRTgaz unveiled its new “For you” communication campaign. Distributed via social media and online, it highlights the company’s full commitment to France’s energy and gas transition.
