TRF & PEG news no. 11 – May 2022

During a record-setting winter, the PEG weathered better by averaging €1.2/MWh below the TTF with deviations exceeding €15/MWh on some days. This relative price control in France is due to LNG emissions 82% higher than the previous winter and comparable in terms of land inputs in the North. An absolute monthly issue record was broken in January at 872 GWh/d. The filling of storage began on a very good pace with already 19 TWh more than last year at the same time. These important LNG emissions, directly from French terminals or imported from Spain, will have to be continued during the summer in order to maximize the stock level and be able to approach winter calmly.
