Launched in Pays de la Loire in 2020 by GRTgaz, Leroux & Lotz Technologies and Terrawatt, Titan V is an innovative industrial demonstration pilot that combines two technologies: pyrogasification (recovery of solid waste into gas) and biological methanation*.

Transforming into renewable gas local resources that are little or badly valued, which are currently buried, incinerated or exported: wood waste, sorting refuse, solid recovered fuels, etc. The project, supported by the Pays de la Loire Region and Nantes Métropole, is thus part of the regional dynamic for the development of the circular economy by producing local energy that is sustainable, controllable and storable via the gas networks, replacing imported gas. A great step forward for the energy transition!

* Process which makes possible to recombine gaseous molecules produced from different waste to make methane that can be recovered in the networks.
