Anaerobic digestion is a way for farmers to play a part in the energy transition

The commune of Cérilly (21) will get its first anaerobic digestion unit in 2023. It will make biomethane using intermediate crops grown to produce energy (fodder rye). Dijon Céréales – a French farming cooperative that has convinced its 150 farmer members to join the Secalia Châtillonnais project – is behind the initiative. The aim is to breathe new life into their farms while playing a part in their region’s energy transition.
