“Artère du Cotentin II” Project

New gas transmission pipeline project between the municipalities of Ifs and Gavrus (14)

The Artère du Cotentin II project involves building a natural gas transmission pipeline between the municipalities of Ifs and Gavrus (14). This will surpass the existing pipeline and develop the gas transmission network in Normandy, following increased capacity requests from customers already connected to the network or who plan to connect to it in the near future. This project will also offer new energy alternatives for local authorities and private individuals, as well as development opportunities for the region’s industrial companies.

Project location

GRTgaz has been in regular contact with French government agencies since December 2015, with project presentations taking place in January and February 2016 for municipalities affected by the pipeline.
Public meetings were also held by GRTgaz in October 2017.

An administrative instruction and a coordination phase (including a public enquiry) took place in 2018. Construction work and commissioning of the new pipeline will begin shortly.
