Bio360 Expo 2022: a trade fair focussed on renewable gases

Bio360 Expo 2022 is a trade fair focussed on Hydrothermal Gasification and the expansion of all renewable gas production

GRTgaz is present at the Bio360 Expo trade fair in Nantes on 30 and 31 March. This is a chance to highlight French and European progress in Hydrothermal Gasification – an upcoming technology that will support the energy transition in the regions.

Bio360 is an international benchmark event for the bio-energies sector. Every year, it brings together decision-makers with the same shared goal: to protect the planet by stepping up the production of all renewable gases that will contribute to the recovery of organic waste, the circular economy, and reducing carbon intensity.

In the spotlight: renewable gas production and Hydrothermal Gasification

GRTgaz is present every year at the Bio360 Expo trade fair, and it has increased its meeting points for this 2022 edition:

First, via its own stand highlighting the benefits of three renewable gas production processes: pyrogasification, anaerobic digestion and hydrothermal gasification
Next, with the Hydrothermal Gasification Working Group (GT GH) stand run by GRTgaz, which gives an overview of the sector’s progress alongside five other GT GH members:  Gazfio, Leroux & Lotz Technologies, SAUR, VINCI Environnement and Voltigital.

Finally, by coordinating the Hydrothermal Gasification conference on 30 March at 2 p.m. – an event bringing together four tech developers seeking to industrialise Hydrothermal Gasification technology in France. The 2022 edition will also represent an important milestone by welcoming:

  • Europe’s two most advanced tech developers: SCS Systems, a Dutch company preparing to commission its first industrial facility in 2022, and TreaTech, a Swiss startup that is currently testing its first pre-industrial pilot facility. Both companies will discuss these projects with us very soon in an interview that will be published on www.grtgaz.com.
  • France’s two leading industrial companies, Leroux & Lotz Technologies and VINCI Environnement, have committed to developing an industrial Hydrothermal Gasification solution in France. This represents a huge step forward. To find out more, visit the GRTgaz website in May when these two stakeholders, both members of the GT GH, describe their vision for the sector and tell us about their commitment in a dedicated podcast.

Hydrothermal Gasification gains an even firmer foothold in France

Since the establishment of the Hydrothermal Gasification Working Group (GT GH) a year ago, sector stakeholders have worked to ensure both that it forms part of the French Energy and Climate Strategy (SFEC) and that it contributes to meeting energy transition targets. The GT GH currently has 40 members. It brings together stakeholders from a range of sectors spanning the entire Hydrothermal Gasification value chain (energy, water treatment, waste recovery, equipment manufacturers, consulting firms, local authorities, professional associations, etc.).

A key disclosure will also take place on 30 march at 11.20 am at the Bio360 Expo trade fair: the Joint Initiative to speed up the industrialisation of projects to recover residual waste as renewable and low-carbon gas. Definitely not one to miss!
