Open Innovation Factory 2019: here we go!

Our goal: to develop together!

SMEs, VSBs, startups, mid-caps and laboratories: we are looking for operational responses to technical issues not resolved by GRTgaz’s internal teams. GRTgaz is launching six new missions for this 4th edition, as well as innovation and exploration topics.

2019 missions in focus

Design an NGV filling device that is accessible to the general public #NGV
In partnership with a car manufacturer, GRTgaz is searching for an NGV filling device that is accessible to the general public.

How to design an NGV charging point and the associated business model so that the largest number of people can access this energy of the future? The NGV market is booming in France and in Europe. Many players are on the lookout for a solution of this type (car manufacturers, vehicle fleet managers, builders, etc.).

Maintaining ground markings and staking throughout the lifespan of a worksite
GRTgaz is looking for a system to guarantee the ground markings and staking of the networks for each distributor present in the working zone, and two metres beyond it, throughout the lifespan of the worksite.

How to maintain ground markings throughout the lifespan of a worksite, whatever the external conditions?

Guaranteeing the consistency of metering data while optimising employees’ on-site presence
At least once a month, GRTgaz wants to ensure that the metering data transmitted remotely from each gas delivery station matches the mechanical reading of its meter.

Metering data is validated by comparing the meter reading for a given period with the remotely transmitted data for the same period. So how can we to continue to guarantee the reliability of the data while optimising the frequency with which GRTgaz employees are present on-site?

Minimise the human factor during maintenance operations while ensuring the proper positioning of our taps following an intervention
GRTgaz is looking for a system that guarantees the taps are returned to their starting position (open/closed) following a maintenance operation.

After a maintenance operation that requires the manipulation of taps and valves, how can we ensure that these are returned to their exact starting position?
The problem applies to all diameters and all types of taps and valves.

Find a quick and easy way to make small non-ATEX equipment ATEX compliant
GRTgaz is searching for an innovative solution to easily make non-ATEX smartphones in ATEX zones ATEX compliant.

Is there an easy way to make small portable non-ATEX equipment ATEX compliant to avoid the unauthorised intrusion of non-ATEX equipment into ATEX zones, thereby improving the safety of employees (GRTgaz or external) and property? Is there a quick and easy way to make non-ATEX smartphones ATEX compliant?

Recover and recycle the heat from gas turbines
The functioning of gas turbines in the compression stations involves the release of very high temperature gas (around 450°C). This heat energy could have a range of different applications, including electricity production, fuelling the station’s engines, or fuelling exterior infrastructures near to the compression station.

How can we recover and recycle the heat emitted from the gas turbines?
