About our pipelines

Works next to the pipeline: more about the process and regulation

Our pipelines are buried underground and do not pose any threat to their surroundings. However, if they are damaged by a third party, the consequences can be severe for property as well as for people.

Our pipelines are discreet and their presence is indicated by yellow posts or markers. However, do not rely on our yellow posts and markers, as they only indicate that a pipeline is nearby and do not show their exact location. It is therefore important that you find out as much as you can before carrying out any works on your property.

Never carry out any works on your property without declaring it in advance

Whatever work you may be planning - planting trees over eight feet tall, putting in low walls under two feet, installing a swimming pool or landscaping your garden  - you must tell GRTgaz in advance if it's located next to our network, identified by yellow posts or markers.

It's very easy to declare your work. Go to the website www.reseaux-et-canalisations.gouv.fr, and you can access the list of all network operators found on your land.
You can also download the forms to declare your work (Declarations of Proposed Works and Declarations of Intent to Carry out Works) that need to be sent to us.

Never start works without our consent and detailed recommendations.
