For viewing the potential for injecting biogas into the GRTgaz network.

GRTgaz has launched Réso’Vert, a new tool aimed at biogas producers.

Réso’Vert can be accessed from the GRTgaz website and is an interactive map that shows the locations at which biogas can be injected into GRTgaz's gas transport network.

Réso’Vert was first unveiled at the ExpoBiogaz fair in Lyon – (one of the leading events for the methanization sector) on 20 February and provides producers with a means of locating the nearest gas transport pipeline for injection projects, calculating its distance and finding out its injection potential.

Biogas injection project developers also have access to statement of needs sheets via which they can initiate discussions, as well as the contact details of reps in the region.

GRTgaz hopes to develop a number of new projects, in addition to the technical-commercial offer that it launched in 2012.

Eight study agreements have been signed and the first biogas is scheduled to be injected into GRTgaz's transport network in 2014.

Biogas is a renewable energy produced by fermenting organic matter derived from agricultural, household or industrial waste. According to estimates, between 3 and 9 TWh of biogas could be injected into the gas network between now and 2020.
