National Agricultural Protocol

GRTgaz partners with APCA and FNSEA to reconcile industrial activities and farming concerns.

Guy Vasseur, President of the Chambers of Agriculture France, Xavier Beulin, President of the FNSEA (National Federation of Agricultural Holders' Unions) and Thierry Trouvé, CEO of GRTgaz, signed a new National Agricultural Protocol (PNA) today relative to the conditions for laying natural gas pipelines on agricultural land.

Through this agreement, GRTgaz consolidates its commitments to defining routes that respect agricultural activities, the rehabilitation of land after completion of works, and the compensation conditions for the owners and operators of the agricultural land that pipelines run through. The feedback from experience covering GRTgaz’s latest major work sites has been put to good use to better deal with the concerns of the players in the agriculture sector. In each administrative département, as required, a local agreement could be drawn up by the representatives of the agriculture industry and GRTgaz.

APCA, FNSEA and GRTgaz continuously renew their partnerships. By way of an example, recent work conducted jointly on biodiversity shows the determination to contribute together to meeting tomorrow’s challenges.

This new protocol, which replaces the one initiated in 1996, became necessary with respect to the technical, economic and regulatory changes that have affected both the agriculture sector and GRTgaz.
