28/11/2013

Lamia Braci, winner of the France Quality Performance Prize, "student" category.

GRTgaz would sincerely like to congratulate Lamia Braci, the first winner of the France Quality Performance Prize, "student" category. The award ceremony took place on Thursday, 28 November at the Ministry for Industrial Renewal with Minister Arnaud Montebourg in attendance.

The France Quality Performance Prize awards are organised by the France Quality Performance Association. Every year, this association awards public and private organisations that are shining beacons of Quality and Performance. The "student" category prize was given for the first time this year.

Lamia Braci, a Masters candidate in Quality Management at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Métiers (ENSAM, Product Conception and Innovation Laboratory) did a 6-month internship with GRTgaz's Quality, Safety, and Environment taskforce (MQSE). Lamia was awarded the prize for her professional thesis on the possibility of applying ISO standard 50001 on the scale of a large company like GRTgaz.

ISO standard 50001 aims to improve an organisation's energy performance through methodical steps to improve efficiency while reducing usage and energy consumption within the company. The goal of Lamia's work was to determine how GRTgaz could apply this standard to all of its activities to allow it to reach a higher level of environmental performance.

Overall, implementation of this standard would allow GRTgaz to double its annual profits from energy certificates.
