Trading Region South (TRS)

The marketplace common to GRTgaz and TIGF, Trading Region South ( TRS) comes into effect on April 1, 2015.

In compliance with the request of the CRE in its Deliberation of December 13, 2012 of a common marketplace for the GRTgaz South and TIGF balancing zones in April 1, 2015, this model of integration of marketplaces is the first one in Europe.

Fruit of a collaboration strengthened between both TSO to increase the attractiveness of the French gas market this new marketplace contributes to the fluidity and to the simplicity of the network.

New balancing rules

The balancing rules will change on April 1, 2015 in line with the roadmap towards the target balancing system approved by CRE in its Deliberation of January 15, 2015.

The target balancing system is resolutely a market-orientated one, in that it encourages shippers on the transmission system to manage all imbalances themselves, clearing them on a daily basis, with no accumulation or tolerances.

This is the final stage before ENTSOG’s European network balancing code is fully applied on October 1, 2015.
