Launch of the public consultation process for the GRTgaz 10-Year Network Development Plan 2016-2025

In accordance with the French Energy Code, GRTgaz publishes a 10-year development plan for its gas distribution network in France every year.

This document is produced in line with European and French energy policies.
It identifies the  the transport infrastructure that will need to be built over the next three years, and presents the main infrastructure that is likely to be developed within the next ten years. It incorporates the supply security obligations that TSOs are required to fulfil. It takes account of interested parties' needs and projects at the national, supranational and European levels. It is based on existing gas supply and demand and reasonable medium-term development forecasts for gas infrastructure, consumption and international trade.

The elements in the forward-looking insight concerning gas consumption and the production of renewable natural gas were first published in the Long-Term Forecast Assessment for gas demand in France between 2016 and 2035, which was a collective effort between transmission system operators (GRDF, GRTgaz, SPEGNN and TIGF). These elements were presented during a meeting with interested parties on 23 June 2016 and published on 27 October 2016. It features the elements in the European 10-Year Network Development Plan produced by l’Entsog (TYNDP) as well as the elements provided by adjacent operators.

The 2016-2025 development plan considers the results of the public consultation process carried out by the French Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) in November 2015 and its deliberations on 17 December 2015.

It was presented during the "Concertation Gaz" consultation process on 25 October in liaison with TIGF. It has been submitted to public consultation by the CRE and is currently open until 2 December.
