SAFETY

A constant emphasis on safety is our first priority.

Reliable and unobtrusive, the transmission systems combine safety and respect for the environment :

From initial commissioning to the daily management of its systems, GRTgaz is committed to ensuring the safety of people and property, to minimizing the impact of facilities on the environment and to preserving the tranquility of surroundings. Risk prevention and the monitoring of installations are permanent concerns.

A safety management system :

GRTgaz has put in place a safety management system that is an integral part of its general management structure.

Being active in the field of safety helps prevent injury and damage to people or property. Safety management demands constant attention and professionalism.

The performance of the management system is evaluated by the international ISRS rating system, developed by the company DNV. It is based on the systematic analysis of accidents and continuously bolsters prevention measures (for example the inspection, rehabilitation and reinforcement of pipelines).

Compliance with the Ministerial Order of August 4, 2006 :

The French Ministerial Order of August 4, 2006 on pipeline transmission requires structures to be reinforced to reflect their geographical location (urban, periurban or rural) and the pipeline inspection regime to be enhanced.
All the geographical features – other nearby structures, population density, etc. – must be taken into account in adapting infrastructures to their environment.
The deadlines for meeting the requirements of the new Order are between 3 and 12 years. Having anticipated this change in the regulations, GRTgaz is on track to comply with all aspects.
